Interested in Tropical Conservation? Costa Rica Spring 2027!
There are still spots available for BIOL 335: Tropical Conservation Biology, a 3-credit course open to all majors with no prerequisites! The course includes a 15-day trip to Costa Rica from March 6–20, 2027, and fulfills LASC Goal Area 10.
Explore tropical rainforests, dry forests, cloud forests, and the Pacific coast while learning about biodiversity, conservation, and the connections between ecosystems and local communities. Activities include guided forest walks, river rafting, tidepool exploration, and snorkeling at three biological stations. Applications are due October 25, so there’s not much time left! If you’re interested or have questions, contact Chris Merkord at chris.merkord@mnstate.edu. You don’t need to be sure you want to go to reach out and learn more!
We hope to see everyone at our upcoming events. Bring a friend, and stay tuned for more updates!
Happy fall! 🍂
